bir çeşit sevgiliye hitap biçimi. you are the one diyerek onu ihya etme olayı vardır. fakat sevgiliden ayrıldıktan sonra askıda kalan bir kelime grubu haline dönüşür. bir sonraki sevgiliye söylendiğinde ise yeniden etkisine kaldığı yerden devam eder. ama burada bir ikilem ortaya çıkmaktadır. "the one" bir tane olmalıdır. oysa her sevgiliye söylenirse "the one" olmaktan çıkmaktadır. buna şöyle bir açıklama getirilebilir ki, "the one" olan kişi gerçekten bir tanedir ama "the one" kelime grubu her sevgiliye söylenebilir. nasıl olsa söylemekle dil aşınmamaktadır.
