texas/salado'da yaşayan, yakınlarda bir festivale gitmek için yola çıkan ve halen yoluna devam eden yaşlı çift raymond howard ve lela howard'ın hikayesidir bu. lela, alzheimer hastasıdır ve durumu ciddidir, raymond ise tehlikeli bir beyin ameliyatına hazırlanmaktadır. çevrelerine fazla uzakta olmayan bir festivale katılmak için yola çıktıklarını söylerler ancak yaşlı çiftten bir daha haber alınamaz. araçları ile birlikte ortadan kaybolmuşlardır.

fastball basçısı Tony Scalzo haberi okuyunca, zihninde yaşlı çifti ilk buluşmalarındaki heyecanı tekrar yaşamak ve eğlenmek için yola düşen iki insan olarak canlandırır. bu nedenle şarkının melodisi hareketli ve eğlencelidir. şarkıyı yazdıktan bir süre sonra ise çiftin Buffalo Gap, Texas'da, gidecekleri yere 3 saatlik mesafede bir kanyonun dibinde ölmüş halde bulunduklarını öğrenir. yaşamın sonuna geldiklerini anlayan çift son bir yolculuğa çıkmış, yolculuk sonsuza dek sürsün diye de kimsenin göremeyeceği bir yerde ölümü beklemişlerdir.

scalzo haberi öğrenince sözlerde ufak değişiklikler yapar. neticede ortaya müziği eğlenceli, sözleri insanın içini burkan bu şarkı çıkar...
