gitarın diger blues turlerıne gore daha ağırlıklı kullanıldıgı blues türüdür. bu türde slide sık kullanılır. stevie ray vaughan en önemli örneklerindendir. fakat bazıları hala blues muzigine bu tarzı dahil etmez ve bahsi gecen bu muzigin sadece delta ve chicago blues seklinde ikiye ayrılabilecegini daha sonra kollara ayrılabilecegini savunur.
ayrıca delta blues tarzında muzik yapan blind willie johnsonın oncusu oldugu savunulan muzik tarzıdır.
