richard condon

1915 yılında New York'ta doğan ve orada eğitim gören Richard Condon, edebiyat dünyasına adım atmadan önce 22 yıl boyunca Amerikan ve ingiliz film endüstrisinde theatrical producer / tiyatro yapımcısı ve movie press agent / film basın temsilcisi (halkla ilişkiler sorumlusu) olarak çalışmıştır. Cecil B. DeMille, Sam Goldwyn, Otto Preminger, Frank Sinatra, Sam Spiegel, Darryl Zanuck, Walt Disney ve Howard Hughes gibi Hollywood moguls / sinema patronları için basın kampanyaları yürütmüştür. 1958 yılında sinema sektöründen "duvardan atlayarak" kaçmış ve ilk romanı The Oldest Confession / En Eski itiraf ile profesyonel yazarlığa başlamıştır.
Condon'ın yaşam tarzı belirgin bir göçebe ruh taşımaktadır; 1953'ten itibaren eşi Evelyn, iki kızı ve "Pepper" adlı dachshund / sosis köpek cinsinden köpeğiyle her iki yılda bir ülke değiştirerek Paris, Madrid, New York, Mexico City, Cenevre, irlanda ve Dallas'ta yaşamıştır. Romanları 22'den fazla dile çevrilmiş ve fener niteliğinde sinema filmlerine uyarlanmıştır. 1996 yılında Dallas, Texas'ta vefat etmiştir.
