Çetesi ile büyük bir soygun yapıp dört kişiyi öldüren çok zeki bir adam olan cody ve çetesinin saklandıkları yer açığa çıkınca , bir kurnazlık yapar ve idamdan kurtulmak için en fazla iki yıl yatacağı başka bir suçu itiraf edip gönül rızasıyla hapse girer. Durumun farkında olan polis ise mahkum kimliği ile bir adamını onun yanına yerleştirir ve olaylar başlar. bir yandan polisin onun güvenini kazanmaya çalışmasını izleriz, bir yandan cody'nin hapisten kaçma girişimini, bir yandan çete elemanlarının cody'den mutsuzluğu ve onun liderlikten etme çalışmalarını ve bir yandan da cody'nin çok sevdiği annesinin buna en olmaya çalışmasını izleriz.
