1977'de stiff records tarafından çıkarılan ''(i'd go the) whole wide world'' single ı ile tanınır. mojo magazine dergisi tarafından tüm zamanların en iyi punk rock single'ı seçilmiştir.
aynı zamanda ; alternatif çağın en iyi 40 single ında zirvededir.(1975-2000) .

kendisi günümüzde fransa'da eşi amy rigby (şarkıcı ve söz yazarı) ile yaşamaktadır.

- karaoke (1997) ,eric goulden adıyla bilindiği dönemde çıkarmıştır.

- 12 o'clock stereo (1996) ''hitsville house band'' ile yaptığı albümdür.

- at the shop (1990), le beat group electrique (1989) , ''la beat group electrique'' ile çıkardığı albümler.
