pink floydla tanıştığım ilk albumdur. Kuzenimin odasından gelen hayvan seslerine yöneldiğimde onu kendinden geçmişcesine floyd dinlerken bulduğumda çok etkilenmiş ve bende dinlemeliyim demiştim.

boom boom ve don't let me be misunderstood isimli iki harika parcaya daha sahip olan grup.

Konsept albüm ve siyasi metin olarak Roger Waters ve ekibin büyük bir eseri olan albümdür animals. Özellikle dogs ve pigs (three different ones) muhteşem parçalardır. Fakat grubun kendi içindeki kırılmaya başladığı da bu albümde anlaşılabilir. Zira albümde çok başarılı bir performans çıkaran David Gilmour sadece dogs şarkısının yarısını söyleyebilmiştir. Bunun dışındaki her şarkı Waters tarafından söylenmiştir. Gene de wish you were here ve the wall arasındaki sahip olduğu zamanlama ile dikkat çeken ve bir parça da göz ardı edilmiş ilginç bir albüm.

çok sağlam basslara sahip bir nickelback şarkısı..

albümde adı geçen hayvanlar toplumdaki bazı kesimleri temsil etmektedir.

sheep (koyunlar) : sıradan halk, sesi çıkmayanlar
dogs (köpekler) : sistemi koruyanlar, ondan faydalananlar, gücü tadanlar fakat tam anlamıyla sahip olamayanlar
pigs (domuzlar) : sistemin tepesindekiler, diğer kesimleri sömürenler

sözü geçen sisteme baş kaldıranlar ise pigs on the wing...
