In the United States, approximately 9 billion chickens are slaughtered every year just because they are males. In India, more than 180 million male chickens are killed annually.

Many of you are convinced that pet food is done solely from the remains of carcasses of large animals that are already killed for humans. Alas, that’s not true. The animal ingredients used to make cat and dog food come mainly from the chicken and duck industry. In the case of hen used, the male chickens are separated after hatching and go to a macerator. In the case of duck used, the females are separated and travels to the macerator as well.
