17. bir geminin limanda yasal müsade edilen sınırdan daha fazla yük alması durumu. aşırı yükleme. bu durumda geminin limandan çıkmasına müsade edilmez, yükün fazla kısmı tekrar geriye tahliye edilir ve şirket çok büyük maddi zarara uğrar.
    
    bir alternatif çözüm, eğer overload fazla miktarda değil ise, gemideki tatlı su (içme suyu) denize tahliye edilebilir. daha önce başıma gelmişti. yazık oldu 40 ton suya.
